Summer Hike with Konekt

Join Konekt Calgary on our Summer Hike at Mount Burke in Kananaskis Country! 🏔️🥾

We will meet in the parking lot at 9 AM on Saturday, June 21st. Mount Burke is a straightforward walk with a moderate incline and under the tree canopy. The summit opens up and the views are great, but it is usually extremely windy up there. This 10.1-km out-and-back trail near Eden Valley, Alberta. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 4 h 55 min to complete. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. 🐶🐾 We recommend bringing water, snacks, and dressing appropriately for the weather. 💧🥪

The road to the Cataract Creek provincial recreation area that is used to access this trailhead is sometimes gated at the highway. In this case, parking can be found on the west side of the 940 and the hike in will add one kilometer at the beginning and end of the route.

A Conservation pass is required to park at provincial parks and public use lands in the Kananaskis Country and Bow Valley region. There are two options for purchasing a pass; daily pass and yearly pass. Only one pass per vehicle is required regardless of the number of passengers.
